Frequently asked questions
What should homestay house rules include?
At least: check-in and check-out times, the ID needed for the police stay registration, maximum guests, smoking, pets, quiet hours, deposits and refunds, and damage.
Do guests have to show ID?
Yes. Accommodation in Vietnam must register guests with the police, so you need each guest’s ID or passport. See HostBooking’s guest registration guide.
When should I send the rules?
With the booking confirmation, and again at check-in. Guests who know in advance argue less.
Do I need English house rules?
Yes if you sell on Airbnb, Booking.com or Agoda: foreign guests can read them, and you have text ready for your listing.
